The trip list
The list available here is basically an export from my personal database which uses the latest IOC taxonomy. As a result some of the species names may be different to those used on the official list on the Oriole Birding web site and one in particular is not on that list - viz Stejneger's Stonechat {Saxicola stejnegeri}. This was once considered variously to be a subspecies of Common and/or Siberian Stonechat and I think was recorded by our group as a subspecies of the latter. It is considered to be a separate species by IOC. Also some of the starlings are called Mynahs, and there are various others but the latin names are generally consistent. My personal total was 401 species and the group's total 425. Twenty-four missed sounds like a lot but 5 of those were only heard anyway, so given my aged hearing that's not surprising! The list is a pdf stored on my Google Drive and will display in a new window when you click the button below.
Of interest possibly, the database I use is called Scythebill. It's a free downloadable database that will run under Windows, Mac OS, and Linux, It comes complete with all World species and can swap at will between IOC or eBird/Clements taxonomy. It's also pre-loaded with all world countries and their states/counties etc. It was devised and is kept up to date by an American guy called Adam Winer. Info here: https://www.scythebill.com/
